Coming off of the release of their third album Lavender Days and an opening slot on The Lumineers 2022 summer tour, Caamp took the late-night stage on Kimmel last night (July 11). The alt-country quartet dawned lavender suites to perform “Believe”, a high-tempo ballad from their latest LP. With a backdrop of pastel watercolor canyons, Caamp ripped through their performance with stadium-rock energy.
Caamp has built up a cult following since their debut in 2016. Their take on the folk/alt-country genre has landed them major tour opportunities and a contract with independent label By and By Records, who released their 2022 album last month. Their songs exude a southern charm with fast-paced melodies that add just enough edge to their tender records, and last night on Kimmel that energy came to life.
“Believe” is a sweeping folk-rock tune with a strong bridge that could win over the toughest of country fans. Lead singer Taylor Meier was able to flex his raspy, baritone voice on Kimmel’s stage, his tone added a layer of emotion to the harmony of the guitars during this outing.
Caamp is finishing up a short run of shows this week, performing two in Oregon and rounding everything out with a show in Vancouver, BC.
