LISTEN: Cara Louise Dazzles With Lush & Aching Country Swooner “Must Be Nice”

Cara Louise is a singer-songwriter from St. Louis, MO, now residing in Nashville, TN. Originally fronting Cara Louise Band from 2013-2018 Cara cut her teeth playing open mic nights, dive bars, and honky-tonks regionally around St. Louis City. Since then she has cut numerous EP’s, an LP, and has toured her music nationally, and has opened for notable acts such as Margo Price, Nikki Lane, James McMurtry, Hayes Carll and more.

“Must Be Nice” the latest single from Louise is a lush country outing that brings together elements of the Nashville Sound and contemporary indie-Americana to make something truly unique in a world where that’s increasingly hard to do. Slick strings and pedal steel swells give way to scrappy indie grooves with fuzzy guitars seamlessly throughout while Louise’s versatile vocals bring the listeners from dark dive bars to theater stages and back again.

“When I wrote ‘Must Be Nice’, I was working a dead-end office job. I saw how everyone seemed so content following their routines, rules, beliefs and structure in a way that I just couldn’t relate to. It made no sense to me, to be completely comfortable living such a mundane existence, but it also occurred to me how nice it must be to have such obtainable dreams, and be so rigidly set in your societal and religious convictions,” says the artist.
