WATCH: Mastodon Shares 90 Minute Documentary Film Into Making Of ‘Hushed and Grim’

Coming off of the immensely positive feedback surrounding their 2021 album Hushed and Grim, Atlanta metalheads MASTODON release a 90-minute look into the making of the GRAMMY Award winning album. The documentary details the journey of the creation of the album which is centered around the death of the band’s longterm manager Nick John. 

Hushed and Grim was released on October 29, 2021 via Reprise record and came out to immediate acclaim. The album was recorded in Ember City at the West End Sound Studio and was produced by David Bottrill. The prog-metal four-piece details their approach to the recording of the album and shows how meticulous the making of their music can be. They also throw in comedy sketches throughout the documentary to break up the intense recording sessions that culminated in Hushed and Grim
