LISTEN: On “Worn Out,” Sweedish Rockers Mud Grief Keep The Riffs Heavy & Sludgey

“Mud Grief is an alternative rock band from Gothenburg, Sweden with influences from genres like noise rock, grunge, stoner rock, and shoegaze. Mud Grief consists of guitarist and singer Elliot Högfeldt, guitarist Casper Salenfalk, bassist Teo Janssen and drummer Nils Hoff.
Their debut single, ”Worn Out / Vicious Valerie”, was recorded and mixed at Welfare Sounds by Per Stålberg and mastered by Hans Olsson at Svenska Grammofonstudion. Available on all digital streaming services on the 9th of September.”

One listen to “Worn Out”, the latest single from Mud Grief, could lead one to believe this group of garage rockers to be the coolest teenagers in Sweden. It’s noisy, it’s raw, and it’s surprisingly melodic and focused, displaying an attention to detail in songwriting that can all be too easily lost when you’re busy sludge rockin’. “The main theme of the song is frustration against our hierarchical and unjust society,” the band explains when discussing “Worn Out”. Hell Yeah.
