LISTEN: Michael Sanders Captures Intergalactic Pop On “Another World Like Ours”

Michael Sanders is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. A Baton Rouge, Louisiana native, Sanders lived in NYC for about five years leading up to the pandemic before relocating to Austin, TX. After playing in bands his whole life, Sanders has taken the past year or so to start putting more effort into a solo career.

As the human race careens ever so recklessly towards the possibility of the entire species becoming homeless, more and more folks seem to be cozying up to the idea that perhaps it’s time to say goodbye to our little blue dot and move on to greener pastures. If you’re thinking of making the trek, the new intergalactic pop single “Another World Like Ours” should provide the perfect soundtrack. It’s a weightless groove and effortless vocals feel like you’re listening to ELO with the windows down in zero-g, which may sound dangerous but is still probably safer than sticking around to see what happens here on planet Earth.

“This was supposed to be the opening track of a concept album I was working on. The narrator is bored with Earth and wishing for something different. He’s then shot up into space, where he falls in love with the Sun. The love was pretty one-sided. I ended up scrapping the project but salvaging this song,” says Sanders.
