LISTEN: On “Intrepid Traveler,” Gidea Nods To Kate Bush Inspired Chamber Pop

Inspired by Joanna Newsom, Kate Bush, and Linda Perhacs, LA-based Gidea’s latest single “Intrepid Traveler” is an intriguing chamber pop offering driven by an organic rhythmic pulse and compelling layers. Featuring cello, harp, flute, and creative vocal harmonies throughout, Gidea’s nature influences are on full display as the arrangement unfolds like a stream picking up momentum as it makes its way down a mountain.  Gidea plans to tour after the release of her EP in spring 2023.

The song title, “Intrepid Traveler,” nods to 1960s The Merry Pranksters member Ken Babbs who nicknamed himself “the intrepid traveler.” This first single was released August 26, with a second single following in October.
