On their latest release, “Kitchen”, NYC’s Toebow brings a shimmering, synth-laden art rocker combining syncopated math rock rhythms, soaring 4 part harmonies, and even an arena-ready guitar solo to round out the mix. Sincere without taking itself too seriously, “Kitchen” showcases a band comfortable in their own skin that can pull off engaging technical feats while making it seem effortless.
“Kitchen” is a triumphant groover about getting through your worst times and coming out on top. The song touches on issues surrounding over-indulgence, substance consumption, and getting past unhealthy and toxic periods of one’s life.
“Kitchen” was initially tracked in 2018 by Colin Mono, then overdubbed, mixed & mastered in 2021-2022 by D. James Goodwin (longtime engineer for Fruit Bats, Bonnie Light Horseman, Bob Weir, Kaki King, Goose, to name a few). It is a stand-alone single, also featured on the limited edition (100 copies) Toebow cassette “Resting Joy Selects,” says the band.
