Bristol, England-based indie rockers Langkamer is back with another set of raw, vulnerable, and undeniably endearing tracks full of the stony vocal delivery of the Kinks and guitar riffs that capture all the catchy quirks of Pavement. “Hamlet”, off the recently released Red Thread Route EP, picks up where last year’s West Country LP lets off, furthering a sound that thrives on a cultivated looseness that manages to find the right balance between playful garage rock and
weighty, existential musings.
Lead vocalist Josh Jarman says: “The questions that arise in ‘Hamlet’ come from the deepest darkest recesses of the human imagination. The lowest troughs of the mortal waveform. Theoretical oblivion.” Production was deftly handled by the dynamic duo of Alfie Tyson-Brown (Katy J Pearson) and Jack Ogborne (Bingo Fury). Their influences can be felt on a track that is as playful as it is powerful, as heartening as it is heavy-hitting.
