LISTEN: Hayes Noble Blasts Angst & Rock N’ Roll Sweetness On “Forget It”

Blasting out of speakers with an intensity, angst, and raw rock n’ roll sweetness that can only come from a 17-year-old with a loud guitar, “Forget It”, from Galena Illinois’ Hayes Noble is a fresh sounding nod to the likes of late 80’s post-punk greats like Sonic Youth and Husker Dü with plenty of originality to spare. Managing to throw in a catchy melody, guitar solo, and tasteful changes, “Forget It” finds creative ways to be dynamically interesting while still keeping the pedal to the metal for the duration. Hayes’s debut album Head Cleaner is set to release on February 17, 2023.

“Forget It” was written over the summer of 2022,  Recorded and mixed by Daytrotter co-founder Pat Stolley, and mastered by Carl Saff. According to Noble, “The song is essentially about the struggles of self-destructive behavior and lack of confidence we have in ourselves. We too often focus on the negative, and are willing to give up everything when something doesn’t go our way, regardless of what we may already have.”
