Last night (February 16), Beck made his triumphant return to the late-night circuit as he performed his new single “Thinking About You” on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The last time the genre-bending artist graced the stage was back in 2019 in support of his 2019 LP Hyperspace. This time around, Beck replaced the shimmering glam-pop style of the aforementioned album with a more down-to-earth acoustic style.
The performance had a simplistic beauty to it, much like the studio version of “Thinking About You” which Beck released to the world just one week ago. The stage was dimly lit as Beck crooned and finger-plucked his way into our living rooms. Beck was joined by Blake Mills and Pino Palladino to help bring the whole performance together, Beck’s soft-spoken delivery matches perfectly with the band’s minimalist arrangement.
