Glittered with Brit-Pop sensibility and a strong ear for harmonies, Boston area’s Winkler shows they’ll be more than just a viral flash in the pan with their new track “City Rain.” It opens with a Nilsson-esque melody and feel, with a textbook earworm backed by a marching snare beat. As it releases into the chorus they show more modern indie flare backed by jangly guitars in harmony. Winkler creates the kind of tune that just makes you want to move forward; down the interstate, bike path, or just off into a field, you’re just going to have to get up and keep moving through this track. The outro brings a whole Abby Road departure that’ll leave you wondering what this might segway into on the Album “For You, Now.”
