Courtesy of their fans, Ohio-based four-piece The Shootouts might have the best tag in music — “country music for people who don’t like country.” And while that line might grab a Radiohead fan or two, there’s no mistaking the band is firmly rooted in swing, rockabilly, and good ol’ honky tonk.

Ray Benson – founder of Texas swing stalwarts Asleep At The Wheel produced their most recent album Stampede, giving a Lone Star State spin on their Rustbelt roots. Led by Ryan Humbert (lead vocals, guitar), there is an authentic twang that resonates through everything The Shootouts offer, proving why legends such as Marty Stuart, Jim Lauderdale, and Buddy Miller collaborated on their new album.

Glide is premiering the video for “I’ll Never Need Anyone More,” (below) off of Stampede a song that was written by Cleveland music legend Michael Stanley, who passed away from cancer in early 2021. Raul Malo of the Mavericks guests on harmony vocals.

“We had a lot of fun making this video. While the song’s theme is a fairly standard unrequited love story, we wanted to turn that on its head a little bit. Director Todd Volkmer came up with the idea of a modern-day “Bonnie & Clyde” angle, and we ran with it. The outdoor scenes were shot in the dead of winter, so it was a little cold, but a blast nonetheless,” says Humbert.
