Finn Conaty is from Dublin, Ireland. He is 25 years old and currently releasing his debut album. His aim is to combine a multitude of various genres together to create a unique and distinctive sound. Finn is a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, piano, cello, and bass. He played everything on the song except for the drums, which his friend Michael Nagle recorded separately.
When listening to bands who pay homage to the vintage rock gods it’s always interesting which parts of each influence shine through. Finn Conaty seems to transcend some of his influences of “Spoke in the Wheel” to let his own sound shine through. There are definitely aspects of CSNY in its scratchy acoustic guitar, simplistic pocketed bass and consistent fill-heavy drums. Something about it revives the vibe of softer Led Zeppelin tracks, but in the end, it’s Finn’s sound unto himself.
