After releasing their long-awaited follow-up to 2013’s Mosquito, it’s like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs never left. The Karen O-led trio used 2022 to release Cool It Down and now they’re truly bringing those songs to life as the band set off on their 2023 tour in support of the new LP. Things kicked off last night (May 3) at The Anthem in Washington D.C. as the band looks to traverse States and more on this current tour. Along with their 2003 debut, Fever To Tell, celebrating its 20-year anniversary, the band has a lot to celebrate during these upcoming shows.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs pulled out all the stops by piecing together a career-spanning setlist for their first stop on tour. They kicked things off with the terrific single from Cool It Down, “Spitting Off The Edge Of The World” before launching into “Rich” from their aforementioned debut album. The band focused heavily on their debut, performing classics like “Maps”, “Date With The Night”, and “Y Control”. The band also pulled out “Wolf” and “Burning”, two highlights from their 2022 album. The band then split the rest of their 15-song setlist between their discography, performing songs like “Heads Will Roll” from 2009’s It’s Blitz! and “Gold Lion” from their 2006 sophomore LP, Show Your Bones. You can check out the whole setlist below.
Along with the stop in D.C. to get things rolling, Yeah Yeah Yeahs will be stopping at a number of cities and festivals over the next few months.
