The Texas sun was unyielding as it cooked the Germania Insurance Amphitheater for the co-headlining show of Garbage and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds on Sunday, June 18th. It was a night of 90s rock standards as both bands peppered their setlist with new and old songs alike. Even opener Metric, younger by comparison, have over twenty years of music that they culled from to warm up the crowd. As the sun mercifully set over Austin, Gallagher and then Garbage played through two solid sets of music that undoubtedly pleased long-time fans while perhaps making a few new ones.
