LISTEN: Royce Johns Plays No-Fuss Truthful Country Folk Tune “Wish I Was”

Royce John Schwienebart, or otherwise known as Royce Johns is a husband, father, guitar picker, and singer/songwriter. He’s been pickin’ and grinnin’ for the last decade, and have been fortunate enough to work with some talented singers, songwriters, and musicians. During his time playing music, Royce Johns had the opportunity to open for some great acts in the industry including Sammy Kershaw, Deana Carter, Sawyer Brown,  Collin Raye, Aaron Tippin, Eric Paslay, The Cadillac Three, Trick Pony, Walker McGuire, and Sunny Sweeney.

Johns’ latest single “Wish I Was” is a no-fuss, three chords and the truth country folk tune that sounds like it could have been found on some undiscovered John Prine tapes. Johns’ voice sounds like it was made for this type of music, delivering his honest and self reflective message with confidence and authenticity. “Wish I Was” is the opening track off the latest full length album Thank Ya Kindly, released Aug.1.
