Chatham County Line is preparing to release Hiyo, their tenth and most anticipated album. The album is set for a January 26 release and if that seems too far away for new music from the legendary western-fusion outfit, the singles are here to guide you through the next month. One of the singles, “Magic” is an enchantingly optimistic tune lined with a slightly psychedelic twang and a heavenly vocal performance that blends Everlys and Wilburys. The single is now accompanied by an equally mesmerizing music video and Glide has the premiere (below) of the documentary-style clip here today.
“We go to concerts to be amazed and dumbfounded, to laugh and cry, to dream and fall in love,” explains Dave Wilson, co-founder of Chatham County Line. “When we play a show, it’s not just music. It’s magic.” The band captured that sentiment perfectly with the new video. It follows the band as they attend a Shania Twain concert in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Hiyo (out on January 26) is already shaping up to be the band’s most daring album to date. The no-frills sound Chatham County Line built over its storied career is challenged by refreshing innovation and risky experimentation that succeeds beautifully.
