Weirdo Wednesday: Sultans of Ping “Where’s Me Jumper”

Pushing our spotlight on Irish bands to it’s questionable limit this week, today we offer up this peculiar performance from a band you’ve probably never heard of: The Sultans of Ping (which, yes, is a play on the Dire Straits song “Sultans of Swing”). The band’s relative obscurity outside of Ireland probably has a lot to do with the fact that, frankly, they weren’t particularly good (apologies to all Sultans of Ping fans out there), but what they may have lacked in quality they more than made of for in weirdness, as this performance of “Where’s Me Jumper” aptly demonstrates. In fairness, this song actually kind of rips live, but it’s more meant to be quirky and entertaining, which it delivers in spades. A fun random song to throw on your tired St. Patrick’s Day playlist that will likely turn a few heads (and perhaps elicit a few chuckles to boot)! Enjoy.
