Weirdo Wednesday: Styx’s Cornball Film ‘Kilroy Was Here’

Does anybody out there actually know what the song “Mr. Roboto” is about?  Most everyone knows the song itself (it coined the Japanese catchphrase “Dōmo arigatō, Mr. Roboto” after all), but is the narrator actually supposed to be a robot? And who is “Killroy”? Such (nerdy) questions no doubt initially perplexed fans of insufferably cheesy 80s synth-rock legends Styx back in the day, so the band went to the trouble to make a short concert film called “Killroy Was Here” back in 1983 to help provide some answers. We’re not entirely sure how successful they were, but we can say the below film is immensely entertaining and only helps accentuate the cornball theatrics of the song that inspired it into existence.
