You can expect an immediate pick me up with a new Grace Pettis song. The Nashville-based, Alabama-Austin-raised singer-songwriter flourishes with an exuberant array of luminescent harmonies that recall Grace Potter and Lake Street Dive.

Following her critically acclaimed Working Woman record, Grace Pettis’ much-anticipated sophomore MPress Records release, Down To The Letter is out this June and shows her songwriting powers in a new sense of poetic urgency. Chronicling the end of a long-term relationship with heartbreaking detail, the lyrics deftly toe the line between personal autobiography and universal catharsis.

Glide is premiering the song and video for “I Take Care Of Me Now,” (below) a catchy number that signifies a catch 90’s alt vibe with modern sensibilities.

“A lot of us lose ourselves in our love for others and it takes time and intention to find ourselves again in the aftermath of losing that love. “I Take Care of Me Now” is a song about learning how to care for and prioritize ourselves, in our work, in our relationships, and in our lives. Sometimes that lesson is hard-learned. Sometimes it’s a long time coming. When I wrote the song, I didn’t 100% believe it myself, yet. It was more of a mantra; a pair of shoes I had to grow into. It fits pretty well, now, though. There’s light at the end of the tunnel,” says Pettis.
