With the untimely death of Steve Albini still weighing heavily on hearts and minds, we’re dedicating this week’s Manic Monday to his most notorious band, noise-rock pioneers Big Black. The below clip captures their legendary last gig in Seattle way back in 1987, which features the likes of Soundgarden‘s Kim Thayil, Mudhoney/Green River‘s Mark Arm, and Nirvana‘s Kurt Cobain in attendance (Kurt shows up shortly after the 31-minute mark). It’s a pretty epic way to go out for one of the most important and influential noise-rock bands of all time, fronted by the late great Steve Albini, whose legacy and impact on underground music will forever live on. R.I.P.
