SONG PREMIERE: Wild Powwers Make Striking Power Trio Statement With “Wild Reprise”

While the word “grunge” rarely comes up in conversation these days, Seattle’s Wild Powwers keeps that downtempo, melodic sound alive with colorful acclaim. With dirty whirl howling guitars and booming multi-pattern drums, the trio sounds larger and more than its parts.

Composed of singer/ guitarist Lara Hilgemann, bassist Jordan Gomes, and drummer/ singer Lupe Flores (who owns renowned Seattle restaurant “Lupe’s Situ Tacos”), have been banging out heavy, infectious shimmering rock music together for 10 glorious years. On their fifth full-length album, Pop Hits & Total Bummers Vol. 5, the band cultivates a collection of songs that lean in on both sides of the musical spectrum. Some are written to be catchy, and some are written to be massive bummers.

Glide is premiering the robust anthem “Wild Reprise, (below), where Wild Powwers hover their tenacious fury with cryptic electricity.

“This song represents letting go of control and just going with the flow. You want to grasp at straws trying to direct your life in the ways you want, but in the end it’s almost a relief to know that you can’t account for the world around you and how it changes your trajectory despite planning and organization.,” says Hilgemann.
