Tuesday’s Gone Violent Femmes Keep Hope Alive With “American Music” Live 1992

With the political turmoil we’re encountering in an election year and recent SCOTUS decisions, perhaps Violent Femmes will save us all. On this week’s Tuesday’s Gone, let’s mix the week of July 4th with a bit of self-deprecating charm Milwaukee style. As Gordon Gano sings “They do too many drugs/I did too many drugs/Did you do too many drugs, too,” then rehashing, “I need a date to the prom/Would you like to come along?/Nobody go to the prom with me” – patriotic doesn’t need to be Lee Greenwood. Check out Milwaukee’s finest performing “American Music” on the ol Dennis Miller show some 32 years ago.
