Cory Hanson is a man of many talents. In addition to being the lead guitarist/singer for the outstanding psych-rock band Wand (who are kicking off their nationwide headlining tour in Chicago tonight), he’s also put out a few excellent solo albums, which included a pristinely psych-flavored country record called Pale Horse Rider back in 2021.
As part of the promotion for that album, he concocted a brilliantly warped/bizarre set of episodes called “Limited Hangout”, which somewhat recalled the most acid-fried variety of cable-access shows you might have stumbled upon at 3:00 in the morning back in the day, but with significantly better production value (and fantastic performances to boot). Whatever the case, they were delightfully trippy/entertaining, further evidence of Mr. Hanson’s (somewhat unheralded) creative brilliance as an artist/musician.
