SONG PREMIERE: Joe Samba Shares Eric Krasno Potent Reggae Infused Number “Meant To Be” Off New Album ‘Lifeline’ Out Sept 27

Every time we hear from the multi-faceted and genre-defying artist Joe Samba, another layer of his artistry is revealed. Over the past few years, Samba has been building a diverse catalog centered around the artist’s deep musical roots. Today (July 25), Samba announces the next chapter in his musical journey with Lifeline, his third studio effort, along with the news of the full-length Samba teams up with Wax on the Salsa-Hip-hop fusion track “Meant To Be,” which was co-produced by Samba and Soulive’s Eric Krasno. The new single, which Glide is proudly premiering below, will join Samba’s previously released single “Little Love” on Lifeline, which is set to be released on September 27.

“Meant To Be” showcases Samba’s wide vocal range as the artist dips into rapid-fire Hip-hop as quickly as he slides into more melodic flows. The single showcases unique chemistry and sets Samba’s refreshing perspective to soothing yet electrifying drum patterns. When asked about his latest single, Samba writes, “It’s about the trials and tribulations of a musician – from family life to life on the road and life in the studio. It touches on the temptations that surround you on tour the good and bad that come with that lifestyle. This is the first of four songs off my new album to be released that were produced by Eric, and I’m beyond excited to have the West Coast homie Wax be a part of it, perfectly detailing his own experiences of life on the road in his verse. I hope musicians and creatives alike can listen to it and vibe with it.”

Lifeline has Samba reimagining his approach to his craft as he brings in outside producers for the first time in his career. “Meant To Be” is proof of Samba’s ability to remove ego from the studio and soak up the energy around him. Lifeline is set to be a tight ten-track outing, and with Samba allowing outside hands in, his songwriting can take on a fresh perspective. “My brand-new album Lifeline is a catalog of songs that represent change and growth. It’s a sonic ride of highs and lows, from emotional anthems to high-energy jams. I try to put together songs that mean something deeper than just notes and words. I hope the listeners can hear that. I hope they can feel and relate to the journey I’ve been on for the last two years – musically, personally, and alike. There’s a song for everybody on this one.”

With a new take on recording and a completed album, Samba sets his sights on the future. Lifeline will arrive on September 27, and Glide has everything you need to know about the anticipated releases.
