It goes without saying that 21-year-old singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Veronica Lewis got off to a rousing start following her 2021 debut album You Ain’t Unlucky. Not only did she win the 2020 Boston Music Award as Blues Artist of the Year (in a town that boasts the likes of Ronnie Earl, Diane Blue, Anthony Geraci, and Dennis Brennan, to name just a few), but she also won the 2020 Boston Blues Challenge and was named 2020’s Best Young Artist by the New England Music Hall of Fame.

Taking a different musical page here, Lewis melts her piano chops and pop enthusiasm into the catchy title track “Too Late For Tears” off her new album, Too Late For Tears out August 16 via Moonwink Music/Symphonic. In the video that Glide is premiering below, Lewis shows her growth from a musical wunderkind to an accessible pop artist, mirroring the young musical growth of Tori Amos and Fiona Apple. Lewis’ New England roots shine in the self-reflectiveness of the lyrics, while the multi-instrumental sound signifies a depth rarely heard from 20-year-olds. Too Late For Tears Veronica presents a soundtrack that navigates the tumultuous journey of self-discovery from teenage to adulthood that surely will find a base that spans multi-generations.

“This is a song about that one friend who keeps coming in and out of your life over and over again. It’s exhausting and hurtful and ultimately you lose your enthusiasm for the relationship. The tumult of emotions finally end and you are better for it,” says Lewis about the title track.
