LISTEN: Zach Bailey Delivers Folksy Imagery and Infectious Pop Melodies On “The Dive Bar”

Inspired by the vulnerability of singer-songwriters and the dance floors of the Los Angeles underground, Zach Bailey (pronouns: he/they) share their music as an offering to deep dive within ourselves and dance to a place of joy. After the release of their debut single, “Corner of the Universe,” introduced the world to Bailey’s blend of folk storytelling and pop melodies, the artist has continually released captivating singles. Their latest, “The Dive Bar,” sees Bailey diving headfirst into the folksy side of his fusion work.

Bailey’s latest outing blends his natural ability to present vivid imagery with infectious melodies. Their cloud-like vocal tones and sentimental guitars emphasize the artist’s unique fusion of pop and folk. While the artist typically finds solace in having one foot in each genre, “The Dive Bar” finds the artist sticking to his folk side. Their pop tendencies squeak through the song’s structure with tight melodies and unforgettable hooks. The eloquent and captivating acoustics beautifully accent Bailey’s songwriting as the artist delivers “The Dive Bar” in a style they can call their own.

“I wrote this song during Adrianne Lender’s School of Song course, of which I was a teacher’s assistant,” explains Bailey. “I didn’t expect to have time to participate in the course as I was helping to facilitate it for other students, but after my final song-share on the last day of class, I stayed up until 11 pm before Dennis’ song-share intended for the Australian time zone. I almost broke Zoom, but I wrote this song I’m really proud of.”
