Today, Mdou Moctar is featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk. The quartet blazes through three songs from their monumental new album, ‘Funeral For Justice.’ Check it out below..

On October 3rd, the band will embark on a North American headline tour, which will include stops in Toronto, Denver, Seattle, and Los Angeles as well as festival plays at Austin’s Levitation and Mexico City’s Hipnosis. Find a full itinerary below.

Earlier this month the band posted ‘The Agadez Folders: Live at Sultan’s Palace.’ It features Mdou Moctar performing a one-hour electric live set at the King’s Palace in the city’s center. They are joined by traditional dancers, swordsmen, and upwards of 20 camels with the Agadez Grand Mosque visible against the horizon..

Released in May, ‘Funeral for Justice’ has become the band’s most widely acclaimed record to date. It captures the group in ferocious form. The music is louder, faster, and more wild. The guitar solos are feedback-scorched and the lyrics are passionately political.
