Fusing the homespun soulful country vibe of Chris Stapleton with the cosmic sounds championed by Daniel Donato, Adam Chaffins has smothered that accessible vibe within his flavor on the new single “Little Bit At A Time.” Glide is giving this thumper a premiere (below) and immediately gravitated towards its twangy gallop and no-nonsense southern-flavored production.

“Little Bit At A Time” is Adam’s first solo release since 2020 and follows the duet with his wife and collaborator Brit Taylor “Holdin’ On, Holdin’ Out” that he released last month. Brit and Adam previously appeared on the streaming hit “Gone As It Gets” along with Meg McRee and Ben Chapman, which currently sits at over 2.5 million streams on Spotify. As a solo artist, he debuted in 2020 with Some Things Won’t Last, which featured everything from fuzz-toned, drum-driven rockers to ballads laced with symphonic swells. That year, he also shared one-off singles “Further Away” (Acoustic) and “Now I Don’t Know,” which both ended up on major playlists including Spotify’s Indigo.

“Little Bit at A Time’ is a cosmic, country funk realization that life shouldn’t be about the destination, but the journey to get there. It’s a personal cultivation of my travels in music after moving to Music City from Eastern Kentucky 14 years ago. Through all the miles logged traveling the world and all the hours spent on stage backing up other artists or playing for my own crowds, I’ve learned a great deal about myself and what I think is my purpose in life. Since my last solo release in 2020, I’ve reflected more on that journey and how an audience can connect with my story and personal experiences through song. This new single is the first of those truths from a new project, produced with Frank Rogers, that will reveal more of itself in the next year,” says Chaffins.
