The Washington D.C.-based duo Glosser, composed of Riley Fanning and Corbin Sheehan, has birthed a unique, hazy musical presentation where sweeping musical passages meet edgy beats. With their new EP Angel Dust due out November 15, Glide is premiering “Silver Star” – a track fans of Cocteau Twins and Phantogram will latch their ears upon. Murky indie rock isn’t exactly something that might cause listeners to put on their workout playlist, but mixed with thes dream pop flourishes, it’s bound to become a cult favorite like early Beach House or Slowdive.
“Silver Star is about having an all-consuming, extreme infatuation with a person and how that obsession can drive you to the edge. We really wanted to contrast the electronic and rock elements to mirror the emotional ups and downs of that kind of state of mind,” says the duo.
Glosser might very well be the next duo at the right place at the right time; while a potent bigger collaboration might be on their palette next, we’ll enjoy this four-song EP till the next full-length.
