Let’s face it: New Year’s Eve can be kind of a shitshow, especially when you’re young. But you know what? It’s hard to argue those aren’t the most fun or memorable ones (provided you actually can remember them). Indeed, chances are many of us have had our fair share of shit-tastic NYEs that we nonetheless look back upon fondly (hangover notwithstanding). Such was no doubt the case for the hundreds of party-goers in attendance for this buck-wild New Year’s Eve performance by The Beastie Boys from 1987, which finds the group at the peak of their notoriously debaucherous License to Ill-era years. Suffice to say, New Year’s Eve and The Beasties in 1987 was a pretty combustible combination, as evidenced by this raucous performance chock-full of stage diving, a questionable amount of confetti, but of course a rightfully absurd amount of good times.
