Jesse Welles Announces New Album ‘Middle’ – Shares Lead Single “Horses”

Jesse Welles has announced his third studio solo album in 7 months, Middle, to be self-released on February 21st (full track listing below). The album, produced by Eddie Spear (Sierra Ferrell, Zach Bryan), is a continuation of the songwriter’s singular unbridled creativity and gift for writing songs that speak truth with a plain-spoken and clear-eyed delivery. “If my music helps you believe you can make art, and that you should make art, there would be nothing better,” Welles shares. “Get those paints out…[and] fill up that journal.”  Welles’ songs to date have delivered scathing and fearless examinations of inequality among classes and addressed hypocrisy and mediocrity in power. This is complemented with his fondness and wonder of nature and love of humanity, all with a wry sense of humor and uncanny execution. Rolling Stone calls his writing “wickedly sharp”, and he has earned comparisons to the greats: Prine, Dylan, and Guthrie. Middle is available for pre-order on all formats here.

Jesse Welles shares the first new song off the album, “Horses.” “It’s a pro-love song,” Welles notes. “Fear leads to hate. Hate leads to atrocities. You build up walls. If you love everyone, it’s a lot easier on you—and everybody else too.” Listen to “Horses” here.

The 25-date Fear Is The Mind Killer North American tour will kick off on February 15th with performances in cities including New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago and more. Tickets for all shows (full dates below) sold out within two days of their announcing, but fans can sign up for waitlists here.
