Slide into the debut single, “Never In My Life,” from Nashville-based indie artist Ferguson. The track catches us immediately with clever synth color and pulsing low-end design, as Ferguson’s voice is soothing and welcoming, a potent combination of pop forces at play. Ferguson is a perceived perfectionist in all the most comforting ways, as clearly everything is in its place, though the song simultaneously brings a sense of lightness and freeing energy. It’s almost like a deep breath of air… or a call to shake loose the tightness, let it all go, and love a little bit.

“‘Never In My Life’ is my attempt to capture the excitement of budding affection. Having been inspired by the power pop of the 1970s, I leaned heavily into the world of electric guitars and synths for this track,” explains Ferguson. “Using digital and analog tools, producer William Brown and I found the perfect blend of grit and shine in his attic in Nashville, TN.”
