Rounding out our salute to the one and only Iggy Pop this week, there are plenty of clips out there of the legendary frontman that could easily fall into the “weird” category, but this performance of “Lust for Life” on Top of the Pops from 1977 really takes the (weird) cake. From his dancing with the stagehand (and fake plants) to kick things off, to scaring away some nice women hanging out on stage, to his propensity to performing on his stomach, his highly entertaining and suggestive mannerisms and poses, it’s all delivered here with his distinctive brand of unhinged primal intensity. Indeed, practically everything that made Iggy such an unpredictable and captivating performer over the years is captured here in all his wonderfully weird, spastic glory. Long live Iggy Pop!

It’s got nothing to do with BBC’s Top of the Pops.
This is from Top Pop, a Dutch TV show
Stewart from Mad TV Having a tantrum.
