English songwriter, artist, and producer James E. Gray explores Britrock with spooky alt and space vibes. Gray’s latest work takes a dark turn, as the haunting and immersive “In Doom” marks the artist’s first release since 2022. The multi-instrumentalist, whose last full-length, Clones, arrived in 2021, marks his return with a stunning lead single and news of a fresh LP. Gray’s new album, Doom, is scheduled for release in 2026 as a concept album centered on the nature of reality, anxiety, and death.

“‘In Doom’ is a battle with anxiety, a grasp for hope, and an ode to loved ones in times of crisis. It was written amidst visions of disasters, in particular a cosmic cataclysm. But, I also wanted it to sound kind of fun, especially as it progresses towards the end,” explains Gray. “With a lot of my work, I find myself being attracted to oscillating between seriousness and silliness, anxiety and excitement, sadness and humour.”
