Conor Miley is a Wexford-based songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer, originally from Dublin. Drawing on folk, indie, and electronica, his music blends emotional depth, intricate arrangements, and compelling narratives.
Miley first emerged on the Irish music scene as a founding member of We Raise Bears, whose 2016 debut EP received acclaim and radio play on BBC Radio, RTÉ Radio 1, 2FM, TXFM, and regional stations. The band performed at festivals including Hard Working Class Heroes, Other Voices, Electric Picnic, and Vantastival. Following the dissolution of the band and a personal turning point, Miley released his debut solo album Thousand Yard Stare (2023). The album, recorded across Dublin, Kerry, and Roscommon, received widespread acclaim from Hot Press, Nialler9, Lost in the Manor, Chordblossom, and the Wild is Calling.
It has been a long, winding creative journey for Miley, and that road has led us to “Raise Your Red Flag,” the fantastically urgent and passionate new single from the multi-hyphenate. The release of this single marks Miley’s first piece of new music since his acclaimed debut, although it seems a lot has changed for the musician since we last heard from him. “Raise Your Red Flag” marks a sonic shift for Miley, one that maintains his complex emotional depth while creating a more palpable sonic terrain for those lyrics to explore, elevating the intricacies of his poetry. “Raise Your Red Flag” is an anthem that reminds everyone to keep one eye open and be wary of whom they’re putting their trust in, as Miley finds it increasingly difficult to find any sense of decency in these trying times. Miley’s latest is a proper reintroduction to the artist’s individuality, as he transitions into a new chapter of his career.
