If You Would’ve Ever Read This, I’d Want You To Know is the new album by San Francisco Bay Area garage rock band Amores Vigilantes, released on March 20. The band is led by main songwriters Delfin Vigil and Christopher Maas alongside childhood friends K.C. Staubach, Jacob Schroth, and Dan Crowell.

If You Would’ve Ever Read This, I’d Want You To Know is a collection of songs based on material dating back to the band’s inception, including elements from original Tascam 4-track cassette recordings made when Amores Vigilantes formed in a San Francisco Bay Area garage in the 1990s.

Amores Vigilantes’ new album is brimming with terrific nostalgia that never detracts from the band’s individuality, and “It’s Been Too Long” is just one slice of that magic. The highlight of the band’s latest is a breezy, warm example of how they took their history and reimagined it to fit their newfound maturity, without ever losing the innocence of the elements they drew from their past. “It’s Been Too Long” is a ripping anthem, with harmonies that add soul to this pristine indie rock. Those vocals incorporate lo-fi fuzz, making the lyrics’ longing all the more palpable. As the vocals whirl in their emotional spiral, the arrangement finds the freedom to roam, with stunning guitar riffs dancing alongside nuanced elements. “It’s Been Too Long” contains multitudes, and every listen reveals an intricate element that has you running back for another listen. This is just one example of the prowess executed across If You Would’ve Ever Read This, I’d Want You To Know, an impressive LP from an exciting band.
