LISTEN: Horace Greene Craft Soulful Indie Rock With Hints of Jazz On “Hush”

Horace Greene is an indie rock band from Wisconsin. The group is powered by childhood friends Tony and Sam, with a vibrant cast of friends and musicians rotating to bolster the lineup. The music of Horace Greene is mellow yet danceable, teasing elements of disco and psychedelia while retaining its rock ‘n’ roll spirit. Following the release of “Nighttime Boi”, the band plans to continue releasing music leading up to their new full-length album. The band has released several singles and two LPs, with its third album set for release on June 6.

“Hush,” the latest preview of Horace Greene’s upcoming release, is a jazzy, dreamy type of groove that begs to be replayed. There is a looseness to these riffs that evokes solace in the listener, leaving a palpable warmth right in the middle of the listener’s stomach; a lasting impression from a young band. The vocals carry with them soulful undertones that captivatingly dance with the sleek guitar melodies and neon-tinted percussion, redefining the concept of infectious music. There is an atmosphere-altering presence to Horace Greene’s new single, one that hangs in the room like cigarette smoke. “Hush” delivers on the individuality an obsessive music-fan searches day and night for, while maintaining a radio-friendly, alluring aura that would make most heads turn if they heard these lush rhymes echoing out of a car speaker. “Hush” is just a slice of Horace Greene’s upcoming album, one that is shaping up to be a landmark release for the band.
