Kim Deal, the longtime bassist and singer for the Pixies, has left the band. The other three members — Black Francis, Joey Santiago and David Lovering — released a statement on Friday confirming her decision and wishing her well. “Despite her decision to move on, we will always consider her a member of the Pixies, and her place will always be here for her,” said the statement, which was posted on the band’s Facebook site.
In recent years, Ms. Deal has been touring and recording with the Breeders, a band she formed with her sister Kelley after the Pixies first split in the early 1990s.
