Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion have confirmed extensive North American tour dates for 2013 in support of their forthcoming album Wassaic Way, produced by Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy and Patrick Sansone at The Loft in Chicago and out August 6. The album features the duo’s most ambitious songwriting, far-reaching arrangements and electrifying performances to date.
On June 24 Sarah Lee and Johnny will preview songs from the new album in New York City at a Housing Works Bookstore benefit show with Dawes. On July 16 Guthrie and Irion will perform at The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles as part of the ongoing series The Drop. Guthrie and Irion discuss how their new album departs from a folk duo and enters a dynamic soundscape of loud guitars, lushness, and pop edge with GRAMMY Museum Executive Director Bob Santelli. The duo will also take audience questions and perform a selection of songs.
