Do to the Beast, the first new album from The Afghan Whigs in 16 years, will be released worldwide via Sub Pop Records on April 14th in Europe and April 15th in North America. The album features the lead single “Algiers.” The official video for “Algiers,” directed by Phil Harder on location in Agua Dulce, just northeast of Santa Clarita, California is below.
The Afghan Whigs will perform at the annual Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, CA on Friday April 11th & Friday April 18th. On April 10th the band will headline an official Pre-Coachella show in Pioneertown, CA at Pappy & Harriet’s with Brody Dalle as special guest.
The band will also perform a small number of headline shows in April and May in North America in Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Brooklyn, Boston and Baltimore. There will be a special fan pre-sale beginning Tuesday, February 18th, with tickets available to the general public later in the week.
