Video: Southern Voices, American Dreams

Earlier this week, the fine folks at When You Awake – a highly recommended blog if you dig things lean towards roots, folk and country – posted these amazing excerpts on the Allman Brothers Band from the 1976 documentary Southern Voices, American Dreams. The clips feature interviews with Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts and more as well as some fantastic footage of ABB performing with Duane at the Love Valley Festival in July of 1970.

The YouTube player is set up like a playlist, so when the first clip stops the next clip will automatically start. Enjoy…

In other ABB news, during his set at T Bone Burnett’s The Speaking Clock Revue stop at the Beacon Theatre on Wednesday night, Gregg Allman told audience members that the Allmans will indeed be returning to their home away from home on the Upper West Side next March – though there is no official word from the band at this time.
