Drive-By Truckers Ready New Album

The Drive-By Truckers continue their prolific as fuck ways with today’s announcement that the sextet will release a new album titled Go-Go Boots on February 15th via ATO Records. You might recall that the Truckers just released The Big To-Do back in March. You see, the group recorded 40 songs in ’09 and ’10 and has split the material between The Big To-Do for the more rock-based tunes and Go-Go Boots for what DBT leader Paterson Hood calls “country, soul, and murder ballad” compositions.

Go-Go Boots – the Truckers’ 11th record – was produced by David Barbe, who has also produced seven of the band’s previous albums including The Big To-Do. In conjunction with Go-Go Boots’ release, the band will also put out a documentary titled The Secret to a Happy Ending on DVD. The film explores the “redemptive power of rock and roll.” For a taste of Go-Go Boots, check out this video for the album’s Used To Be A Cop, which was directed by Hood and Jason Thrasher…
