Video: Phish – Pigtail

While Phish shied away from playing much new material during their five-night New Year’s Run, they did debut a catchy new Trey/Tom tune called Pigtail at the second night of Worcester. Upon first listen, Pigtail might not jump out as a standout Phish song, but if you let it sink in it’s a total keeper. Musically, Pigtail has that whimsical Heavy Things feeling, but it’s also reminiscent of some of Phish’s earlier catchy tunes like Silent in the Morning  in that Trey plays one of his distinctive lead melodies as an outro. Verdict?
