Well, this worked out well. As I was getting the audio together for this week’s post, I saw a show from The Decemberists pop up. On Tuesday we posted the Row Jimmy Cover Wars and The Decemberists are one of the four contestants. And wouldn’t you know it – they encored with it at this show in Scarbrough, ME. The Decemberists [tour dates] play tomorrow at Chicago’s Riviera Theater.

You can count on it every New Year’s Eve, Umphrey’s McGee will have a horn section and they debut a whole bunch of new covers. Then after the calendar year flips over, it’s always interesting to see which covers get to stick around in the rotation. So far UM has given encore performances of Roundabout by Yes and this cover of National Anthem by Radiohead. Umphrey’s McGee [tour dates] plays tonight at Buster’s in Lexington, KY.
