The Allman Brothers Band and MSG Network team up on Monday, March 14 for the first-ever live broadcast in the 41-year history of the channel featuring a March Madness show at the legendary Beacon Theatre in New York City. In advance of that special night, MSG started airing highlights from the Allmans’ 2010 United Palace Theater run last Friday and will continue to run the four 75-minute segments each night this week.
The Allmans first played at the Beacon in 1989 and the group’s yearly spring run has been a fan favorite ever since. Last year, the run was relocated uptown to the United Palace due to the Beacon occupation by Banana Shpeel which ended up closing in less than six weeks. This year the Allmans are back where they belong at the Beacon with a 13-show run starting Thursday. Fans can stream every show of the run through Moogis webcasts.
