Living legend Carlos Santana joined the Trey Anastasio Band for a majority of the band’s performance May 31st the Warfield Theater in San Francisco, CA.
Although Phish has opened up for Santana numerous times in the past, this is the first collaboration between Santana and Anastasio in years, each of whom they consider to be close friends. The five piece horn section and latin beats of percussionist Cyro Baptista must have made Santana feel right at home.
Santana joined the band in the first set for “Last Tube” and “The Way I Feel.”
The second set consisted of Santana playing the four song second set, a segue of songs including Mr, Completely, Night Speaks to a Woman, and Caravan.
