Video: Pinetop Perkins – They Call Me Pinetop

We lost a great bluesman yesterday when boogie-woogie piano player Pinetop Perkins passed away in Austin, TX at the ripe old age of 97. Perkins, a chain smoker who claims to have started smoking tobacco when he nine-years-old, has performed with the likes of Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson and Honeyboy Edwards over the course of his illustrious career. Pinetop even made an appearance in The Last Waltz backing Waters.
