Just before Phish hit the road last June, a collection of soundboard tracks recorded at previous shows the band had played at venues they were hitting on that upcoming tour surfaced as part of the Past Summer Tour compilation. The tracks were distributed by promoters in emails, through Ticketmaster’s website and in various other ways leading to a scavenger hunt of sorts for fans who wanted to hear all the tracks.

With plenty of tickets available to many of the shows on this summer’s tour we had a feeling Phish would once again share some gems from the vault and today we get our first taste of the second Past Summer Tour compilation.
On tonight’s episode of the Endless Boundaries radio program the killer Twist > Slave To The Traffic Light sequence from Phish’s July 4, 2000 performance in Camden, NJ was debuted. DJ Jay went a step further and shared the MP3 of the track and offered this explanation of its origins on the program’s message board…

So it looks like we won’t have to search as hard for this year’s compilation and our thoughts can turn to predictions of which tracks will make the cut.
