Announcing: Royal Family Affair – Soulive, Chromeo, Big Gigantic & More

The Royal Family Records family has put together a number of outstanding parties around the country over the last few years, but they are taking it up a notch with the announcement of the label’s first festival. The Royal Family Affair will take place at Stratton Mountain in Bondville, VT on August 12 -14 featuring a lineup that includes Soulive, Chromeo, Lettuce, Big Gigantic and Zach Deputy.

Also on the bill for the three-day event will be Dumpstaphunk, Break Science featuring Chali 2na, John Brown’s Body, The Pimps of Joytime, Paper Diamond, The London Souls, Eric Krasno & Chapter 2, the Sam Kinninger Band, Neal, DJ Kraz, Crushed Velvet and The Velveteers, The Shady Horns as well as special guests Jennifer Hartswick and Karl Denson. The organizers have also put together a one-time only performance by what looks to be a killer power trio – John Medeski on keys, Adam Deitch on drums and Skerik on sax.

Besides the music taking place on the event’s two stages and a late-night venue, The Royal Family Affair will utilize some of the talented musicians in attendance for a series of workshops and clinics such as a guitar seminar with Eric Krasno, a horn clinic with The Shady Horns, a percussion clinic featuring Alan Evans and Adam Deitch plus a composition/songwriting clinic with Neal Evans. Single-day tickets will run $29.50 – $34.50 while three-day passes will go for a reasonable $89.50. Tickets go on sale starting on May 24 through the event’s website with VIP options also available.
